Ive asked this question recently … im based in the uk. Some ideas:

-train – you can get multi train tickets
-coach
-car
-push bike/tent (not so good for cities)
-buy a camper van and sell it when you’re done
-buy a boat and sell it when you are done (limmited to coast places)
